01Can I edit a GEDCOM file online without installing software?

Yes. Upload your .ged file, edit people and families right in the browser, and export an updated GEDCOM when you're done. There's nothing to download or install.

02What happens to GEDCOM fields Kinleaf doesn't support yet?

They're preserved as raw metadata attached to each record. When you export, that information is written back into your GEDCOM file, so editing one detail never silently deletes the rest.

03Will my edits change the original file?

No. Your uploaded file is left as-is. Edits live in your private Kinleaf tree, and you export a fresh GEDCOM file whenever you want a new copy.

04Is my edited tree private?

Every tree starts private by default. You decide if and when to share it. Public sharing is never automatic.
