01How much does Kinleaf cost right now?

Nothing. Kinleaf is free while it is in beta. There is no payment step and no card is required. You are helping us shape the product.

02Will Kinleaf always be free?

The core will stay generous. Once real families are using Kinleaf and we understand what people value, some heavier features may move to a paid plan, for example more storage, more collaborators, or larger exports. We will say so clearly before anything changes.

03Can I import my existing GEDCOM or Gramps file?

Yes. Import a GEDCOM or a Gramps XML file and continue editing online. We preserve fields we do not show yet as raw metadata, so nothing about your family is quietly thrown away.

04Is my data really mine?

Yes, during beta and after. Export the whole archive as GEDCOM, Gramps XML, JSON, PDF, or PNG whenever you like, and keep an offline backup. We never sell your data or hold it hostage.

05What happens to my trees if paid plans arrive later?

Nothing is deleted and nothing is taken away without notice. Your trees stay yours, you get clear warning before any limits apply, and you can always export everything first.
