Terms of Service
Last updated July 4, 2026
These terms cover how you use Kinleaf. We have kept them readable on purpose. The core idea is fair. You own your family data, you are responsible for what you put in, and you can take it and leave at any time.
Using Kinleaf
By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms. If you are using Kinleaf for someone else or an organization, you confirm you are allowed to accept these terms on their behalf.
Your account
Keep your login details safe and give us accurate information when you sign up. You are responsible for activity under your account. If you notice unauthorized use, tell us so we can help.
Your content stays yours
You keep ownership of the family data, photos, and documents you add to Kinleaf. You give us only the permission we need to store, display, and process that content so the service works for you, for example rendering your tree or generating a PDF. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies that may sit in backups for a short time before they age out.
What you are responsible for
Only upload data you have the right to use, and be thoughtful about information on living people. Do not use Kinleaf to break the law, infringe someone else's rights, upload malware, or try to disrupt or reverse engineer the service. We may suspend accounts that put the service or other people at risk.
Plans and payment
Kinleaf is free while it is in beta, and there is no charge yet. We may add paid plans later for heavier use, such as more storage, more collaborators, or larger exports. If we do, prices will be shown on the pricing page and we will tell you before anything is billed.
Availability and warranty
We work to keep Kinleaf reliable, but the service is provided as is without guarantees that it will always be available or error free. This is exactly why we make exports easy. Keep your own offline backup so your family history never depends on a single service, including ours.
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Kinleaf is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data where you had the ability to keep your own backup. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that cannot be limited by law.
Ending your use
You can stop using Kinleaf and delete your account whenever you want. Export your archive first if you want a copy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or creates risk for others, and where reasonable we will give you a chance to export your data.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the product changes. When we do, we will update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Kinleaf after an update means you accept the new terms.
